Chambo (CHA)-Oreochromis spp., Tilapiine fish species
Chisawasawa (CHI)-demersal haplochromine cichlids, caught off-shore by trawlers
Kambuzi (KAM)-small demersal haplochromine cichlids, caught in-shore by artisanal fishermen
Kampango (KMG)-Bagrus merionalis
Mbaba (MBA)-large demersal haplochromine cichlids, caught in-shore by artisanal fishermen or off-shore by semi-industrial fishermen
Mlamba (MLA)-Clariid catfish
Usipa (USI)-Engraulicypris sardella
Utaka (UTA)-Copradichromis spp.
 
Chambo seine net-a large-meshed beach seine net; targetted on chambo
